Somewhere to put the ironing until you’ve got time to do it? Does it mount up until you can’t see the bed? Umm, we’ve all been there, our spare room becomes a dumping ground, so we just close the door and forget about it.
This lovely room looked twice the size once we’d redesigned it, despite the new bed being bigger than the old one. We used Matthew Williamson’s Coralino wallpaper from his Deya Collection which depicts sinking treasure from a shipwreck and the matching fabric for the curtains. Taking this marine theme further, we framed and hung a beautiful mermaid print on the wall and put a shell and silver turtle on the dressing table.
For the soft furnishings we used Rouche fabric from Zoffany’s Phaedra Collection for a luxurious look.
Our clients are delighted with their new room and are considering making it their master bedroom now, there’s no way the ironing is finding its’ way back there!
