There has been a recent trend for sports clubs, particularly golf clubs, to extend their catering facilities to the general public. Many clubhouses boast professional kitchen, restaurant and bar facilities, operated by experienced chefs and highly qualified service staff. Catering to the general public for parties and other special events can add a significant new revenue stream for a club to re-invest in its future development and maintenance.
Mid-Herts Golf Club in Wheathampstead is one such club. The Club Board asked Jenny Junior Interiors to design and execute a makeover of the clubhouse’s extensive window dressings, with the brief of maintaining optimum natural light and views over the golf course, whilst adding an element of luxury. With over 20m of doors and windows to dress, this was quite a challenge! Using beautiful curtain fabrics from Harlequin’s Mirado range, and wave headed sheer voiles, we managed to inject some colour into scheme which complemented their pink chair upholstery.
The clubhouse now provides fine-diners and party-people alike with a high-quality and beautifully decorated venue for entertaining and socialising, receiving impressive reviews from the patrons for excellent food, wine and great service, offered in a luxury setting.
